Loomis and the Lust Impress

Loomis and the Lust's EP Nagashais a short but sweet introduction that sounds like a band much older then they actually are. Sounding well beyond their years, LATL sound like they've been rocking out for two decades which in fact is about how old they actually are. Embracing classic pop hooks, cranking it up to ten, throwing in a bit of soul, and then coating it in a sheen of brilliance, LATL make Nagasha a classic power pop record without even trying. I'll put it to you this way, within about thirty seconds into "Bright Red Chords," you'll be reeled in and probably singing into a hair brush.

While much of Nagasha is top notch pop rock that has uber-radio appeal written all over it, the darn thing is just too short. I mean first impressions are everything and LATL make one heck of an impression but just as you get over that and settle into a groove they're gone. It's just not fair. We want more because whether it's the hit in the making, "Bright Red Chorus," or the crunchy pop of "Break On Love," this band should really be a household name within a year or two. Nagasha is a super impressive introduction to a super mature and super tight band that shows Loomis and the Lust are beyond ready to make the big leap.
